Coaches,
Most of you all know we have a strong ASA tradition reaching back over 19 years. We started the 12 and the 14 U league with just four teams in each league. The following year we took the numbers to a high after one year to 28, followed by a grown in the third year to 41 teams. Each year after we held steady with the number of teams in the league.
We have also been so lucky to have a rich tradition in the co-ed baseball pitching machine league in May – July, this program has been running for 30 plus years, and many fast pitch players played in this league before moving up to the ASA 10U division. Ten years ago we offered a pony tail ASA pitching machine league and ended with three teams; we are now going to make another run at starting a Top Notch League run out of Belleville Parks and Recreation Department - from April through the first week of June. We will be taking select team registration starting on November 1, 2017. For 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U and HS division.
Most of the teams are aware that renovation was completed at Southside Park in June. We have another signature piece of renovation which will happen in the month of September at Laderman Park ballfields, we place all new lighting, and it will be ready to go in October of 2017.
The 8U league can have a minimum of four teams and a max of 13 teams; we will be playing 12 games in the season. I would like to reach out to all organizations(Clubs) and teams to see what their interest is in an 8U select league. If possible, any teams interested can have a meeting in September to discuss details of the league. I will lay out the details of the league and answer all the questions teams may have about the Belleville league and why it the right fit for your team.
The time is now become part of the USA/ASA Fastpitch softball movement and make a difference for years to come in your club or organization.I have been reaching out to many clubs and have had positive responses in favor of a Belleville 8U league.
Please forward to all your softball contacts; it is time to move forward and give the 8U teams a chance to start a grass roots foundation for softball and life.
